Ken Bu Kan offers Self Defense training, rape prevention seminars and workplace violence seminars. Located in Raytown, Missouri, we serve the Raytown and Kansas City Area. We also are available nationally for self defense seminars, rape prevention seminars and workplace violence seminars. We are now offering Martial Arts Instructional Videos and Karate Kata videos for download. 

Master Leavitt has dedicated over 30 years to the study and practice of all common Okinawan Weapons, Kata and Technique. Kyoshi Leavitt is the Founder and Head Instructor of Ken Bu Kai and of Ken Bu Kan. He holds a 7th Degree Black Belt in two additional Associations.  

Kyoshi Leavitt founded Ken Bu Kan, in Lee's Summit, Mo in the early 1980’s. He recently moved his Dojo from Greenwood, Missouri to Raytown, Missouri for the study and practice of traditional Martial Arts. Ken Bu Kan focuses on traditional training, and provides special programs for Women's Self Defense, which includes self defense pressure points. Ken Bu Kai is now filming instructional videos including Technique, Kata, Kobudo (weapons), Pressure Points and Self Defense are now available for sale on this web site. As the production is completed, more video's and DVD’s will be offered here.

Kyoshi Leavitt has such a unique teaching style making Traditional Martial Arts a viable and sensible solution to personal protection.
